Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes the rules and restrictions that apply to your use of the SimpleAddresses platform and APIs. Violation of this AUP may result in suspension or termination of your account.

2. Permitted Use

You may use SimpleAddresses to:

  • Validate, autocomplete, and search addresses within your applications
  • Build products and services that benefit your users
  • Integrate the API in accordance with the documentation and your subscription plan

3. Prohibited Activities

You must not use SimpleAddresses to:

3.1 Illegal or Harmful Activities

  • Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
  • Engage in fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading activities
  • Facilitate or promote illegal activities of any kind

3.2 Abuse of the Service

  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, quotas, or access controls
  • Perform automated scraping or bulk harvesting of address data beyond the scope of your plan
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the Service
  • Send artificially inflated or fraudulent API traffic

3.3 Security Violations

  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any related systems
  • Introduce malware, viruses, or any other harmful code
  • Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data belonging to others

3.4 Interference

  • Take any action that imposes an unreasonable or disproportionate load on our infrastructure
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service

4. API Key Responsibilities

Your API keys are credentials specific to your account. You must:

  • Keep your API keys confidential and not share them publicly (e.g., in public repositories)
  • Rotate compromised keys immediately and notify us at support@simpleaddresses.com
  • Ensure that applications using your keys comply with this AUP

5. Consequences of Violation

We reserve the right to:

  • Suspend or terminate your account immediately for serious violations
  • Rate-limit or throttle your API access for lesser violations
  • Report illegal activity to appropriate law enforcement authorities

6. Reporting Abuse

If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to abuse@simpleaddresses.com.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
